The Perfect Movie Night Set-up
Here at Rumbly, we are ALL about self-care during pregnancy. One of my favorite forms of self-care during my pregnancies was having not just a movie night, but a full-blown chick flick night! A night where I would cozy up on the couch with as many pillows and blankets that I could find, make a mixed bowl of all my favorite snacks (and cravings), sink my feet into a warm foot bath, do my nails, tie up my hair, and turn on whatever chick flick, rom-com, or girly movie my heart desired.
A couple of years later, I decided to compile a list of all my fav movie night pregnancy self-care items, and from there, I curated them into some of our best-selling Rumbly pregnancy gift boxes! If you want to elevate your pregnancy movie night experience (beyond just comfy blankets), check this out!
Back to the movies.. throughout my pregnancies, I found a few movies that I specifically loved that made me feel less alone while pregnant, and I want to share them with you here today, in anticipation of your next pregnant movie night. So cuddle up and keep reading!

What To Expect When You’re Expecting
I have to admit that I am guilty of watching this movie at least 7 times throughout my pregnancies. Pregnancy can feel lonely at times and watching the drastically different pregnancy experiences of the four different women in this movie provided me with comfort, relatability, and complete comedic relief. 😅
Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, and Anna Kendrick, Brooklyn Decker…talk about a stacked cast! And that’s only naming the women! Adding to that list is Chase Crawford, Chris Rock, Matthew Morrison and many other likely familiar faces.
What To Expect When You’re Expecting showcases the challenges of impending parenthood from pregnancy to partner disagreements. This movie did a really good job of making me feel less lonely throughout my pregnancy and I have to admit, it provided me with a few “at least that didn’t happen to me” moments too! 😅

The Back-up Plan
You may not have heard of The Back-up Plan before but when you find out that Jennifer Lopez plays the leading role, you know you want to see it. Yes, in this flick J-Lo was back at it again, though this time, instead of the seemingly never-ending wait around to meet a man she ‘clicked with’, J-Lo decides to make an appointment to be artificially inseminated. The catch is, that on the same day as her procedure, she happens to meet her dream man. I won’t give away too much, but this one will definitely provide you with a great entertainment score and a good laugh about pregnancy symptoms. I had more than a few “been there, done that” moments while watching this one!

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
I’m sure we’ve all seen the ICONIC “Mamma Mia!” And it only gets better from there. If you haven’t seen the first one, you 100% need to make this a double movie night and watch both in one sitting.
In the second movie, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” young Donna graduates from Oxford and solo travels Europe! On her wonderful adventure, she encounters a few different eligible bachelors and later finds out she is pregnant. I can’t tell you much more without totally giving it all away, you will just have to see it for yourself. This feel-good movie reminded me of the excitement and anticipation around pregnancy and how beautiful of an experience it truly is to bring a baby into the world.
Chick-flick movie nights truly are one of my favorite forms of self-care. Allowing yourself to relax and enjoy some of your most loved things without feeling guilty is so, soooo important, especially during pregnancy. Rumbly was created to highlight the importance of self-care during pregnancy and to pay more attention to yourself to make sure you continue to feel the best version of YOU that you can, while also becoming a mom.
